At Gurukula headquarters at Anandanagar, the autumn season following months of rain is the perfect time for starting up new building and agricultural projects. There is enough water everywhere and the temperature is more conducive to hard work than in the hot summer months. All over the place vegetables and fruits are growing to be harvested in the winter months.
International Yoga Day at Anandanagar
AMGK hosted the International Day of Yoga at Anandanagar in June. About 250 people participated and were served a special meal after the event. The children of Anandanagar schools gave a special performance. Rector Master Ac. Aniirvananda Avt. and Kulapati Ac. Shambhushivananda Avt. were the chief guests on the occasion.
Chitmu Learning Center, Gopal Anandanagar
The children of the Chitmu Gurukula Learning Centre gave dance performances for over 5000 persons on the occasion of the annual spiritual congregation at Anandanagar. Mrs Radha Gusain and Dada Shambhushivananda are seen here in the picture with the children of the school. About 60-80 children regularly attend the classes being conducted at the Learning Center by Mahesh Kumar and three local teachers.
The Reception Centre
The Reception Centre in Cakradhuri campus is now completed and being utilized by Gurukula staff for furthering the works of Gurukula. Prabhakar Trond Overland is currently there on a six month visit and is coordinating the Neohumanist Review journal from there. Here he is pictured tutoring Rajesh, age 13, at Cakradhurii.
Gurukul Music and Fine Arts College
Recently our Gurukul Music and Fine Arts College at Anandanagar got affiliation from Pracheen Kalakendra Chandigarh. The students are now preparing for the examination to be held on January 24th. The total number of students appearing in the exam is 48: Classical vocal 30, Kathak dance 10 and Tabla 8. The students conducted a cultural evening at Anandanagar on September 14th to commemorate Prabhat Samgiita Day.
