Neohumanist Review Issue 3 is available here
It is a pleasure to offer Issue 3 (September, 2024) of Neohumanist Review to all well-wishers of the neohumanist movement. The main theme of this issue is “Taking the Pulse of Health.” A young physician, Dr. Rodrigo Bazúa Lobato, provides us with an overview of the health challenges facing the global population, while a celebrated futurist, Dr. Sohail Inayatullah, offers us novel perspectives on health-futures. The object of healing should be both physical and mental cure. Medical research should therefore include a healthy lifestyle which would minimize the vulnerability to the onslaught of diseases.
Also in this issue: Dr. Sid Jordan has delved into the nature of the brain and how it regulates human behavior including the spiritual. Dr. Ediho Lokanga takes us into the world of new physics where atoms are intelligent entities that compute, process information, self-organize themselves and have consciousness. Dr Avishek Ranjan provides us with a unique perspective on the sustainability of growth of augmented intelligence (AI) from the energy usage point of view. Essays by Ladli Prasad Bhargava and Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiiji allow us to peep into the world of ideation and meditation. Consumption and profit are two issues regularly scrutinised by the progressive-minded; Shriraksha Mohan takes a look at their further potentialities beyond throwaway, consumerist society. Dr. Edvard Mogstad revisits the issue of climate challenges by reminding us of the facts that correct the normal belief in causal connection between carbon dioxide emissions and global warming.
