I’m happy to send you the updated good news from our school in Laos and pictures from our amazing summer school activities.

This month we started the new 2024-2025 academic year with a bang! We have 60 new students enrolled in our primary/middle school which moved to its new location one year ago. Yay! So the school is full of new and old excited students.

Summer School in July was a success. The main theme was ‘Entrepreneurship’ and each class was responsible for creating pleasing popular food, managing the budget and promotion, and selling their products at a summer snack shop once a week. The kids and teachers managed everything efficiently as all classes came away with a profit which was used to host a special party day in each class at the end of summer. Our Chinese and English language teachers also focused on vocabulary and role playing based on the ‘Entrepreneurship’ theme.

Each class also had challenging tasks in the computer lab, learning basic coding and, for the older classes, constructing and manipulating basic ‘robotic’ vehicles and machines.

Both the primary school and middle school youth camps were hugely popular. The primary students participated in the exploration of local wetlands and the middle school students spent two nights and action-filled, team-building days at our farm in Veunthaen Village.

In the attached photos you will also see our beautiful newly turfed sports field. We love it.

We have many exciting activities planned for the kids during this coming year to encourage our students to develop and express their incredible talents and skills.
