A Time for Change

Millions of people around the world vote every year to bring political changes in the hope of creating a better world environment, where there can be peace, prosperity and sustainability. While change in political leadership is a normal phenomenon, improvement in the lives of all people remains yet to be seen. In these transitional times, let us think of all those-—literally millions— who have been affected adversely in the Ukranian-Russian conflict or in the Israeli-Palestinian and neighbors conflict; or all those affected by floods, typhoons, hurricanes and other natural calamities; or those who were killed in accidents or terrorist acts in border areas; and many others who are suffering due to inflation, joblessness, totalitarian regimes and serious health issues.Let us not forget that changes are indeed urgently needed. The sufferings of the people may have been caused by individual karma or silent acceptance of defective social and economic systems, lack of political will, or absence of benevolent leadership or mindless addiction to war machinery. The proper allocation of society’s resources must be employed to benefit one and all and to minimize the sufferings to all. Minimization of disparities should be at the core of the global social and economic agenda.

If citizens of the world are to live in peace and harmony, we must increase the moral fiber of society, uplift our own moral conscience, and look for peaceful resolutions to every conflict situation through diplomacy/ negotiations rather than resorting to cycle of violence. And let us educate our young and fellow beings in the highest ideals of neohumanism.

On behalf of Ananda Marga Gurukula, I invite one and all to support the hundreds of neohumanist initiatives around the world and support such moral leaders who carry love for all in their hearts. May the future be illuminated by virtues of universal love, benevolence, magnanimity, compassion, sympathy, empathy and everything that leads us towards divinity.

Imagine a classroom where every child’s voice is heard, their dreams supported, and their unique essence celebrated. This is the vision Neohumanist education brings to life. At its core, Neohumanist education isn’t just about learning to read, write, or calculate; it’s about fostering an unwavering respect for all living beings, encouraging curiosity beyond books, and building resilience in students that echoes far beyond the classroom walls.
Growing up in a world that feels both more connected and more divided than ever, our children need more than traditional schooling. They need an education that teaches them to see the beauty in diversity, to stand up for justice, and to care deeply about the world they live in.

Neohumanist education instills these values not through rigid lessons but through holistic experiences: exploring emotions, connecting with nature, and embracing differences in a way that feels deeply human and endlessly empowering.

Social justice isn’t an abstract concept for Neohumanist schools; it’s a living, breathing practice. Students learn that equality and justice are not only aspirations but actions they can embody. Through hands-on activities and community service, they can engage with pressing social issues and gain an appreciation for their role in making the world a better place.

In our journey to create a more just world, Neohumanist education offers a way forward, grounded in love, respect, and empathy. It reminds us that each child has the power to change the world, and when nurtured with the right guidance, their potential is limitless. It’s more than education; it’s a revolution of the heart, inspiring a generation to dream bigger, care deeper, and act bolder for a just, inclusive, and compassionate world.

And behind every inspired student is an inspiring educator. To all the teachers who pour their hearts into this work, who foster understanding and cultivate kindness in every lesson, thank you. Your dedication lights the way for the next generation of compassionate, courageous leaders.
